About

So, after a month of traveling and getting a whisper of what Thailand was about, I figured it was about time I stopped thinking about writing a blog and actually start one… My boyfriend and I are a young Cape Town couple. With university conquered, TEFL certificates in the bag and a desire to get lost some place beautiful, we booked our flights and came to Thailand.

After 2 months of traveling the South islands, we returned back to Bangkok (a city we never envisioned spending more than a few nights in!). In April we started our teaching adventure, which has since been filled with many wonderful experiences and fuelled by many unexpected challenges. We continue to learn something new each day and I hope that this blog sheds light on a few things we desperately wish we had known before starting our teaching endeavour in Thailand…

From December 2013, we packed our bags to begin another travelling adventure. Our teaching days in Bangkok are over – and we left this crazy and amazing city with incredible memories and a whole lot stronger!! :)

Please feel free to contact me on klighton44@gmail.com if you are looking for some advice or have any questions relating to this blog…

Here goes my attempt at sharing our adventure! :)

I would love to go on an adventure like this with my boyfriend. Only thing is – he’s focused on a career in town instead of abroad like me :( I shall live vicariously through you two for now :)

Dropped over from Susie’s party, glad I did. Was in Thailand in Jan. and avoided Bangkok, the stories of its evil side just put me off, so I spent most of my time in Chiang Mai at the http://www.elephantnaturepark.org/ volunteering. I look forward to reading about your adventures in Bangkok. The Train market sounds great. Why is it called the train market?

Bangkok has got such a bad reputation – we were expecting the worst! :) But it is a truly wonderful place, where the ‘evil’ side can be avoided! Your travels in Thailand look amazing! Thank you for taking an interest in my blog! :)
